Had my new iroc for 4 days(got rear ended in my RS two weeks earlier wrote her off). I was showing off doing 140kph down government road in Burnaby. Decided to pass a car on a double solid yellow, in a school zone thru an intersection. A lady in a LeBaron convertible ran the stop sign and I t-boned her. Lost my licence for 1 1/2 years, $10,000 in lawyer fees, $1000 in fines. I learned my lesson. They made that intersection a 4 way stop. What can I say, 17 and stupid.

I havnt done anything really stupid.. I behave. did however stop at an intersection, couldnt see past a tree and crept out to be later smoked by a biker hugging the corner at high speed. It ended up being my fault but who travels around a blind corner on a bike at 70 k in a 40 zone! ::).. little damage to my car but the bikers wrist was broken :o

Merging onto the Mission bridge during rush hour. I'd just finished up after a long day of work, aged 18, and it was the first rain in about two weeks. I'd had the car for about three months, and the past week was the first time that I'd gotten it working properly (approx. 280hp). Stepped into it to merge on the onramp, going about 60 in second, and completely lost the rear end, threw it out into the middle of traffic. All that I can remember is looking out my window and seeing a massive Dodge Ram bearing down on me. Luckily, I hit two cars in the opposite lane first, a Toyota van and an Astro van, which set me straight before I got rearended at 90 km/h by the truck, which sent my sub into the front seat. I ended up facing traffic, the front end of the car almost completely ripped off, the rear end absolutely crushed, and somehow, the engine was still virtually spotless and, eerily enough, the stereo was still playing away when the car came to a rest.
Put my head through the driver side window, but I ended up getting nothing but a concussion and a few bruises. Everyone involved was ok, actually, but they all agreed that I was lucky to be alive. The cop gave me a ticket for "undue care and attention" and said that I was speeding, but the driver of the truck actually offerred to testify on my behalf, and I ended up not paying the fine. However, I fear rain like nothing else now!
Oh yeah, and with the insurance money, I managed to purchase the POS that I have now. It's slowly getting better, but it's been more expensive than it would have been, had I gotten the right car the second time.

Your absolutely right, Rain after a dry spell is nothing to joke about. I lost my best friend too it. He was coming down Mountain Highway and he hydroplaned into the Bridge at the bottom of the cut. Lost his life at 20.
With that in mind I keep all my racing to the track... and drive as defensibly as I can on the street. Not to mention I drive through Downtown and Richmond traffic everyday and that alone is a accident waiting to happen.

6 years of driving a car and three years of riding a bike and still no good stories. I think I'm gunna crash my bike this summer though since I'm the only one of my friends left who hasn't.

i was driving down a road that is posted at 50 kmh i was doing approximatly 30 kmh slowing down.. the car in front was going to be turning left into a parking lot.. she was way up there.. i was not using my brakes to slow down just shiftin the gears... was in my 91 Mustang Gt... i saw her about to go so i assumed she was gonna go.. turns out she decided not to go because a car was coming... i had to lock up the brakes and my tires were bald as a mo fo and the front of my stang went right under the rear end of the ladies buick...
it was a sad day... although my stang got all new head lights, fogs, bumper, and hood.. still sad...
also drove my lifted ranger into a couple ditches and trees but all off road... ;D never once crashed any of my maros...
when i turned 16 i had a supercharged 88 Iroc 305 tpi... never once crashed er.. and i have yet to crash my 92 Z28.. (tap on wood)
so i guess im ok.. lots of tickets tho.. and 3 suspensions ::)

Not my accident, but the car is now mine....
Just before Christmas '93 my mom was heading into downtown Langley (from Brookswood, via 200th st) to do some Christmas shopping. She got as far as 44th ave when someone made a left turn right infront of her... she locked up the brakes & ran into the side of him, spinning him into a car on 44th. She pulled the Camaro off to the side of the road & put on her flasher, so that she could get his info & wait for the cops. As they're waiting a guy in an S-10 comes barreling down 200th & crashes into the back of the Camaro, he was too busy checking out the rest of the accident & not watching his driving. Needless to say the car would've been a write off at over $4300, but because it was 2 separate accidents & the guy in the S-10 paid out of his own pocket, they didn't total it.
Now she's my baby :-D

crash #1 (if you call it that)...i was backing my moms truck 76 chev out of a friends driveway, its got a canopy on the back with old school petaphile curtains so i couldnt see too well and i hit a parked civic going probably 2 km/h and cracked the civics tail light.
crash #2 as a passenger-late august of this summer i was piss drunk and half passed out in a friends car...next thing i know the car is moving. He hopped in and started driving without knowing i was in the back. Anyway, gravel road going way too fast and swerved to miss a deer ended up getting air going off the road down an embankment and into a stump. Broke my pelvis in two places, torn mcl, torn acl, tore some ligament in my ankle, seatbelt severed my intestines so they had to take out 6 inces of large intestine and 4 inches of small intestine and leave me with a temporary colostome. Doctor said something about a few slipped discs in my back that will need surgery eventually. The surgery required them to cut through my abdominal muscles so i couldnt sit up for the longest time, and still cant do a full situp. In the hospital for 39 days, developed pneumonia and a large blood clot from not being able to move for so long. So far ive had 11 CT scans. Lost 61 lbs in the hospital.
Just started walking again with no crutches about 4 weeks ago, cant totally straighten my knee yet but im supposed to stretch it whenever i can to help that. Apparently i have 4 surgeries left if everything goes to plan. Nurses come to my house once a day to change my dressings.
After that ordeal i have a huge lack of confidence in other drivers. I dont even like driving with my own parents. As soon as my z is on the road im probably never going to drive with anyone again.
