Hello,

I have an annoying squeal coming from the driver side rear brake. I did the pads this weekend and it seemed to stop for a short time, but came back.

I noticed that the passenger side had a small metal clip that sat at the top of the caliper - kind of like this =|. COuld the lack of this cause this?

Going to take back apart tonight, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Grant

Ok, image of clip I need attached. Anyone know where to go? GM sells with pads, which are crazy expensive.

[ had to make space, sorry! ]

Hmmm, I'm suspecting it's the caliper not properly releasing now. Put some anti-squeal on last night and the pads were pretty right on the rotor. 1 thing I didn't do is machine the rotor (since it looked good). Could that be the cause of the rotor?

Hmmm...

even if the brake surface wasnt true, it wouldnt squeek, just pulse. something is causing it to squeek, its just one on that side, whats different from left to right?

caliper seems to be tighter on the driver side - and the mentioned clip is missing.
