clicking sound coming from the motor or exhust i think !

i recently bought a 95 z28 and for the last 2 days i have heard this faint clickin sound comin from what seems to be the engine , i didnt think much of it till tonight i was comin home from the gas station and i turned and corner and booted it a lil and now its not such a faint clickin sounds its a really fuckin loud clickin sound does anybody have any ideas at all of what happened?

i was thinkin it probly has something to do with the valves...?

just hadthe same problem turned out to be a colapsed lifter,

first off what id do is remove the valve cover on the side thats making the noise, and inspect all the rockers for excessive play, and check that the valve springs are not broken.

also do u have hedders? it may be a bad hedder leak, check for signs of black arround the heads.

if u have a sthescope it will come in handy with a problem like this as u canpinpoint the problem

If you've got headers my very first guess would be the header gasket. Collector gaskets can go, too. Lifters don't go unless the engine has been poorly maintained at some point in its life, but it is always a possibility!

hey thanks for the advice guys but when i woke up today and i could see a lil better i noticed that one of the spark plugs had poped out and wasnt in at all. *:mad: :mad:. I dunno *who the guy who owned the car before me got to do the tune up but they sure were fuckin retarted

I feel for ya bud.* :( Hmm... on a positive note, I guess now's the time for you to check out your car inside & out. Rip it apart, and make sure eveything is running the way it's suppose to be. :) Hope everything works out.
