With my idle issue could it be a vacuum leak? cause i had a small fluctuation with my Map sensor when 89Vert scanned it. But it didnt throw a code. I cant hear avacuum leak so maybe it is small. Just enuf to cause this Idle variation.
Let me know what u guys think. :fingersx:

i think your fucked.....look for missing springs. haah seriosuly tho. vacume hoses are pretty quiet when the engine is running, and yes it can deff. throw the ide off. so you checked for timing? shorting out plug wires? bad plugs? ooh...collapsed hydro lifter? not lettign the valve close properly(probly not tho).. umm, distributor is all good? i have a strong feeling.....and i also think its electrical...haha...okeeeee

Hey shit head u can lose vacuum from other places besides a hose moron. Master cylinder could leak at the brake booster for example..... So how bout u shaddup. My intake could not be holdin vacuum aswell. All u have to do is hook up a vacuum pressure guage n plug it into the upper intake n measure how much vacuum ur holding jack off.
So if u have one bringer by so i can test it.....

I heard a soapy water solution will work too. But iam intrigued by the propane idea cuz hay if the car catches fire at least i can collect from icbc.
So STEVE how do i attempt this. :D

with a propane torch of a small amount, run it over you vacuum hoses and anywhere else there could be a leak
when the engine picks up thats where your leak is
engine must be running

I dunno my dad figures it is vacuum so i dunno i might just take it to a shop n get them to fix it. Then save money n do the clutch my self.

a vacuum leak on fuel injected can do all kinds of weird shit,
i had 1 tiny little hose off and my car ran like a bag of shit
when we did the engine swap on my brothers car
we eliminated all the emssions crap and found like 10 different leaks
car still ran fine, just ran better once we gutted all the bull shit completely

someone suggested 02 sensor because it seems to only occur when the car is warm could this be a possible problem?

Mine does the same problem, and it's not the O2 sensor, I replaced mine and had the same problem...
I don't think being warm has anything specific to do with it. When the car is cold, the ECM runs the idle high to warm it up. When it's warm, then it idles at the 500-700 range which is where the problem occurs.
I haven't checked for vacuum leaks yet. Someone mentioned EGR valve.

in some older shop manuals they tell you to use propane to find vacuum leaksm its quick cheap and ez

I have already changed my EGR valve previously this year it isn't the valve. I am prolly jmust gunna take it somewhere to freakin busy with work to get the time to do it myself.
