Probably would. I still only paid $5800 for my pile of garbage. If I had $25,000 to spend on a GTI, imagine what I could do to my car.

Euro Spec, just meens the car was acualy imported from Europ. and not built in North America. It also has certian
proformance parts and options that are not avaliable here.

Mr. TroPiCal
07-16-2005, 04:05 AM
basically euro spec means its the version of the car*released in europe as opposed n. america...in the case of the new 2005 Golf's Gti's, they get a better engine producing 200 HP which is what the american Vr6's have been doing to this point...as for this specific car, not being a 2005, im not sure what the difference is (probably mostly cosmetic), but its probably not worth the cost of importing it, but a nice car nonetheless

there are other special edition euro golfs that needless to say would tool a large amount of fbody's on this site...theres even a modified twin turbo R32 gti that does a 11.4 sec 1/4 and costs around 60k

i like golfs...down with you haters

That is very true, thanks man for the help on the info!
I also am a big fan of these cars! I have yet to race him
and find out if it'll kick my ass. I'll keep you posted.

Also here's a link to a sad video of someones GTI
overheating and burning to a crisp. RIP haha

things funny in this video:

a)filming the engine slowly burning instead of trying to put it out...

b)waiting till the fire has spread from the engine bay to the interior before then finally taking a dinky water exstinguisher to it which probably doesn't hold enough water to fill your dog's water dish

c)all the cars that just drive by

d)the guy jogging by in the background

e)the song haha

f)the firemen looking at the hose wondering why water isn't coming out

g)the guy putting his camera on the groud so it can film the car burning

h)the fact that the emergency blinkers are on haha

i)sitting in a burning car getting trying to grab what you can before it burns!

j)the car alarm going off

k)and finally, just how fuckin burnt the car got hahah

great video...poor car...oh well, its funny cause it wasn't me :D

I dont think they had a fire extinguisher with them in the
car. someone probably brought it out from their house, when
they saw their car burning.* *There really isnt much to do to
try and put the fire out when you dont have water or a fire
extinguisher. All you could do it film it.* :( :( :'(

yeah I think the firemen were'nt in a big hurry to put it out.
dont think it would have made a big difference if they were
in a rush to put it out. At least he can Save the cars Rims...

As a wise old man once told me.
-"You must know thy enemy"
so consider me helping out. The wise old man also told me
-"Pay attention to your enemies, for they are the first to discover your mistakes."
he also told me
-"One enemy can do more hurt than ten friends can do good."

yeah VW as a corporate whole, but more specifically the porsche brand name was rated the absolute worst in the world

JD always has 1 list that has corporations with their umbrella companies clumped into one, then they have a brand list.* I remember the 2004 brand list was 1. Lexus 2. Cadillac 3. Acura..and porsche last and I can't remember what was in between

that said, porsche makes sexy beasts and Id buy one anyday if I had the extra money laying around* :D

ANYWAYS!!!!!!!! Back to why I really posted this......
I finaly raced my buddies Golf GTI last night around 12:00
down at Esquimalt Lagoon. I managed to keep a full 2 cars
lengths ahead of him, and we both topped out at around
100km and tried it again it was pretty fun. a nice road to
Drag on. I thought he would have beat me, but I guess now
I know. His Golf had a turbo and blow off valve + other mods,
think he's put a good $1,500 in mods. but still couldnt beat
the power my new Rebuilt could put out =)* :D :D :D

ive always been thinking about good non heated out spots for that kinda shit...but i would think the lagoon would be heated out with all the houses seeing u...and as for the fire...if i couldnt piss id at least try to blow and blow lol...i wonder if ne thing under the hood was still good...

1987camaroz28

The Lagoon in Esquimalt acualy isnt bad beacause theres
water on both side. its a really neet road. you live in
Vic? ever been down there?* It's cool.

Here's a link to a satalite photo of the road. as you can
see its in the middle of the water

Only way to do it is get a US residence and license and then you can only be here for 6 months at a time.

easy...if it's a European-made, Euro-spec VW under 15yrs...how did he get it on the road?

or is it simply a run-of-the-mill Golf w/ some Euro upgrades....

Captain Morgan
01-10-2006, 08:43 AM
If it meets all safety standards, why cant you drive it? The skyline's problem is the right hand drive, thats why it has to be 15 years old....the GTO/Monaro has something to do with the bumper.... So id imagine if an imported car passes a safety inspection, its driveable

LowriderS10
01-10-2006, 11:30 AM
RHD has nothing to do with it....it's not as easy as passing an inspection...

actually, it wont leave the dock if its younger then 15 years old.
also, that gti wasnt imported, just made to 'euro specs'.

importing cars into the states is also VERY hard, and VERY expensive.
soon it will be just as hard and expensive in canada. 15yo rule or not.

and RHD isnt why the 15year rule is there.

it will leave the dock...you can use it for shows/track use as long as you trailer it around and it never sees a public highway.

that gti wasnt imported, just made to 'euro specs' - exactly what I said ;) big difference between the two...reminds me of my buddy who had a polo green 92Z and kept bragging that only like 107 were made...too bad his was a repaint lol...
