any opinion on disc brake kits for second gen camaros? I'm thinking about going with wilwood. Anybody done one? what about quality etc. what about old firebird disk components? I have an 8.5" 10 bolt

i am gonna be doing one this winter. all the aftermarket ones are really good. you will need a new master cyl though. if you go to resto company sites like NPD etc. they have complete kits made up for camaros

what are you loooking for? there is cheap swaps you can do from junk yards or you can spend $ on Baer or Wilwood setup. Depends on how big and haw fast you want to stop.

well I want a setup that can fit over the old z28 15" rims for now. I probably should get new backing plates for the existing drums and a few other things, maybe $200-$250 worth of parts. Mopac quoted me something like $650 for a wilwood conversion kit so I'm probably looking at an additional $400-$450 to go with new discs. I would also like to increase braking power since I will probably drive the car hard once it is done and safety is a factor. The kit sounds good, 4 piston calipers and vented discs. But yeah I will have to buy a disc / disc master cyl. 79 what combo are you thinking of going with?

wilwood or aerospace engineering, pro touring or the drag race kit, drag kit for the front too i think.
