I'm ever so slowly restoring my 79 special edition TA and it looks like reassembling the engine is going to be the winter project for me and my friends.

So does anyone know which paint was used on the 403 Olds engines? I was told that it was GM Corporate Blue, but just want to see if anyone can confirm this. The car has sat for over 20 years under a tarp, so its in pretty good condition with decently low milage on it, so I decided to go as original as possible and go for collectors plates, hence why I actually care about painting the engine correctly.

Hm good question, I think it was corporate blue but you may want to check into that. There should be resourced somewhere on the internet, some guys at www.classicalpontiac.com might even be able to help you with that.

Man, there are a lot of different blues for GM's, Pontiac alone used two different kinds of blue paint on their engines...I always thought Olds used a darker shade than Chevy, too.
