Does anyone know a shop or a person who "specializes" in third gens in particular modded ones?? Im pretty much outta ideas on my car and am at the point where Im willing to pay someone to figure it out. Basically I am having low vacuum issues ((cant find any vacuum leaks)) a miss with the occassional *intake backfire...and it sometimes stalls if I rev it up a few times and as the rpm drops it goes a little too far and stalls. Im assuming that once I solve the miss I will hopefully correct the backfires and regain enough vacuum to have the brakes function all the time. Ive got a tech at work looking it over and its running alot better than before but I dont have the time *to wait for the tech to get free time to finish the job. My motor is far from wild and is very mild. Ill list the mods and if you guys know of a "specialist" please let me know.

350---> bored to 355 Speed Density
stock crank (ground and polished)
Eagle H beam rods
Hyperutectic pistons with Moly rings
Clevitte bearings
Cloyes double roller chain
Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam ((08-305-8))
Comp Cams hydraulic roller lifters
Comp Cams hardened pushrods
Crane 1.6:1 roller rockers
Edelbrock Performer 64cc heads
Holley Stealth Ram intake
Accel 1000cfm 58mm
Accel 24lb injectors
Holley AFPR
MSD Distributor
MSD blaster coil
MSD 6AL
Taylor wires
Bosch Platnium plugs
Edelbrock TES headers

Thats the basics. There is no custom tune yet until I resolve the issues first, timing is at 8*, fuel pressure is at 44 psi with vacuum disconnected and no obvious vacuum leaks. The plugs are brand new. The cam has been checked and degreed and according to comp it should pull 15"s easily. Im currently fine tuning the valve timing etc. and with the new plugs the car is running better but still not right. Thanks

problem might be the car needs tuning, only problem is sd takes a bit more to mod then a maf setup

I looked up your cam,
it says it needs a highly modified intake and computer

did this problem start as soon as the cam was put in
or did it happen later on,

I changed the cam and intake at the same time. The intake is a HSR with a 1000cfm so the intake is highly modded over the TPI. As for the computer Im not sure that tuning would change the vacuum all that much. Ive talked to alot of tuning guys and one very good tuner and they seem to agree. I guess Ill play with it as much as I can and get into the tuning.

if your stock computer is tring to compensate for the cam,
I would think it would run like a bag of shit,
have you looked at you BLM's at all

I havent yet. Im finishing the rocker adjustments and then I will. I talked to Comp Cams and they told me that I shouldnt have any vacuum issues with this cam on a untuned motor. Thanks for the input

if you back off all your rockers a turn the car will still run, but it will eliminate a valve staying open as your lack of vacuum

get a dfi
and I have low vacuum in my convertible too. so im getting a vacuum pump for my brakes.

I was considering a DFI but in all honesty Ill never need it unless you have one for cheap?!. I just need one correct tune and thatll be it. Once I get a good solid tune then Ill be set. No more mods besides gears. The vacuum issue I have is strange. The cam I have in there is apparently mild according to very experienced tuners. They all say the same thing and thats the cam should make 12-15" at idle....I only make 8". I cant find any vacuum leaks. I still working with the valve train...still have a small miss to track down then Ill check the vacuum again. If its still bad Ill scan it and see what the MAP sensor is reading then do a leak down test and compresasion test. If it checks out then I guess a vacuum pump. What cam are you running?

I can scan your car and tell you what your map is outputing if you need,

could be your map leaking as well,

have you tried the propane trick?

I may take you up on that. I actually disonnected vacuum lines off the plunum and plugged them. Took the reading and it was* 8". I have tried the propane trick but once the car isnt missing and the rockers are set then I will recheck the vacuum. I have a tech at work who used to work for Duecks ((got GM experience)) and also dealt with an R7U. Has tons of experience and he says to finish the valves and fix the miss and I should recover a few inches. Thanks for the options.
