i was wonderin about some susp upgrades ... i was gonna make a ladderbar set up but i was told that it would limit the cars streetability as far as agressive cornering and i was told to install a 4 link rear susp. 4 links are fairly costly i think, would ladderbars make that much of a difference?

what are you doing with the thing,

Camaros handle good stock,

maybe upgrade to Iroc suspention

what do you got into this car,
with all your plans I'd ditch the RS and get into an Iroc,
at least you get good stuff stock,
then upgrade,

ladder bar is drag suspension, so is 4 link. anything with solid rod ends isnt gonna be a pleasant ride.

really?? how? its not that i dont beleive u, cuz i know how chinsy and flexible the chassis are in 3rd gens... but how would a trac-bar tear it in half?

the lift bars use alxe wrap to push the lower control arms into the mount at the body,

it puts alot of stress on the unibody etc.

they don't even sell them without subframe connectors

the torque arm is suposed to take the load, liftbars change the stress point,

I'm sure they work very well, in their design they try to lift the front or the car with the rear end

not really, mustangs have a type of 4 link technically factory. but camaros use a totally different design. any of those aftermarket setups like 4 link etc. are drag race oriented. and will be the shits on the street. like i said before. solid mounted suspension will send every vibration/clunk through your butt. and they dont turn that well. lots of customization required to suit the application you want of turning. were talking thousands of dollars and hours of fabrication.

If all your doing is trying to get rid of wheel hop, the throw some eurathane bushings in the LCA's and panhard. And get some decent rubber on the rear wheels.

a larger sway bar would help as well as a stronger torque arm. im not sure of the size of my sway bar or what i should up grade to.its juss a stock v6 rs sway bar would an 89 iroc sway bar be better suited?

can someone give me a good definition of wheel hop?

series1000
09-18-2005, 10:35 AM
as far as i no wheel hop... its when both rear wheels "hop" or "skitter" across the pavement on a launch. because of too much traction and not enough power to the wheels, the Axel torques and plans only one wheel at a time, causing all hell to break loose inside your car.

My friends witnessed it once and said that's exactly what it looked like. The tires were shaking and that was shaking the car around. It sounds like your running over a crap load of speed bumps. WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM. Hehe.

ya, I fixed it. The car is lowered and the old rubber was really soft. The hop went away when I went to eurathane bushings and put 18's on it. I put the old RS rims on my S10 so all my cars are happy now. I still want LCA relocators just to get the angle right. Plus I heard it helps stop the car from squatting.
