got it all, my dads a carpenter
Do you know the formula for box volume?
I know a good book if you want. I also no a progam you can get. Boxes to spec make a huge difference. I put 2 Jl w0 12's and a 400 watt clarion amp in my girlfriends truck it hits 139.9 db. Last comp. I was at only one guy beat me, but he had 4 15's

I build them as well. 2x8's, 2x10's or 2x12's in a box like CrazyCanadians. $100US~$130CAN.....flexible.

I also do custom fiberglass stuff like kickpods, dashpods, subenclosures, dashpieces.

If you're nice I'll even deliver for free. :D

Building boxes to meet speaker Thiele/small specs does help, but nothing beats proper box placement. Loudspeaker Design Cookbook is the best if you don't mind doing the math. However, results will not match calculated frequency responsed due to the fact that the calculations are based on free air box placement. Cabin lift starts at 100Hz 0dB gain and hits 20Hz +20dB gain. But results always vary because not all cars have the same cabin volume or dimensions, which determines the lift and standing wave arrangements. Any questions?

No ?'s. I got the book. Bass Box is a good computer program.

Totally agree. Bass box is one of the best that I've used so far. Some times I whip out my BoxPlot, which is an old DOS response plotter. Works pretty well but is limited. Its not setup to handle 3rd order or higher box designs.

Ya i live on the island but i ocasionally go to Van for sushi, comp parts etc..

anywho

since i dont have any subs exceptfor a kenwood 350 watt amp, and also a pinoneer amp that came with my car. I would want decent bass but i also wouldnt want to upgrade again right away, can anyone tell me if ChevyGuy LUkes subs hes sellin, if there any good?

IMO go Alpine, go Rockford, or go home ;) JL good too ;D

you got a vert if you want it to pound you need high end subs with high end power

your opinion of decent bass and mine might be different but personally I wouldn't get a sub that retails for less than $250 for a 10" and $400 for an amp to drive 2 10's, with my alpine Mrd-m500 and 2 type R 10's it sounds real clean and the bass is fairly insane with the top up with the top down it sounds good with my old mrd-m300 amp bass was lacking with the top down, you may be happy with less bass, I have very high expectations when it comes to bass

looks a little more than threw together,
takes days and weeks to do some of that
people pay thousands for that shit
very nice work, you do it for a living

i won't even consider building a box that take more than a day
