that sweet type 56 (SKS to you) with the trianglar bayonet was just about the coolest thing.
it cost about 1/5 of a m16 (which you can't buy), and it's just as accurate, and more reliable in harsh conditions.

it cost about 1/5 of a m16 (which you can't buy), and it's just as accurate, and more reliable in harsh conditions.
I also prefer rifles, however an SKS is nowhere near as accurate as an m16.

Yeah rifles are the best to shoot by far, my favourite are bolt action rifles with .300 or .30-06 rounds, or Winchester 1894 with .44mag
My favourite pistol was the Colt 1870 with the .45LC, so much fun to shoot

The SKS's aren't necessarily more accurate, however they are very well designed (by the Soviets in the 40s) which along with the AK47 were basic copies of the first assault rifles ever produced, which were designed and built by the Germans in WWII (sturmgewehr in german). The biggest problem with other assault rifles is that they jam, the Soviets basically took the German rifles and redesigned them with more space and tolerances inside, which prevented jamming. The M16s, AR15s etc are supposed to be more accurate in tests, but does that matter when it's jammed and cant even fire?

lol those things are massive in real life, you need big hands to hold it. Ive also been told by guys who have fired the .50 cartridge that it gives you limp wrists when firing off a few rounds

I'm basing this on the fact that i own an SKS and i know how terrible they are at over 100yards with the 7.62 FMJ
I'm not saying the M16 is that good, i'm saying the SKS is that bad. It is meant for close-quarter warfare.
That said, it is still a brilliantly designed rifle; tough, cheap, and easy to produce.
