I just got a used TH350 installed on my 79 Trans Am 400 block and was having some fun with it pealing out. It seemed to be handling very well. I reved the motor in neutral then popped it in drive. I was laying some pretty good tire when everything shut down. I managed to start it up again after a few tries but one thing I was concerned about is when it started up and I shift into drive it wouldn't go. Then I tried again and shift into reverse it started working as well as when I put it into drive. I drove for a few hundred feet then everything shut down and even the motor wouldn't turn on. I thought I might of run out of feul so I took a 7 mile drip to get some more. When I returned I refilled it and it started up with a few pumps from the gas pedal. I put into drive and started to go with a few kicks from the tranny. I put into 1st and drove it back home (5 mins). Do you think I jacked it up?

Some one told me a long time ago that was the way to do it. I guess I should of checked before hand. Is there the slight possibility it's still good?

very very VERY slight.... nuetral drops are probably the hardest thin you can do you you eengine..next time you want to burn rubber with an auto hold the break and hammer the gas when ur stopped and it will start spinning.... im not sure why the engine is shutting off but the tranny notworkin might be because you fucked up you clutches or servo's or broke sumtthing who knows...to many variablees to tell...why ddont you actually sign up to the sight?

Am I looking at a rebuild or overhaul? And if so, do you think I would be able to handle the rebuild or overhaul? With of course the help of a manual. I've rebuilt carb's before with a step by step manual, that's why I'm wondering if it's possible.

I wouldn't recommend trying
