Paid too much, car needs some TLC. Oh well, I've always wanted a 92 25th Anniversary 1LE/R7U car, very hard to find. I'm just happy to finally have one!
Yours and mine are the only 1992s I've ever seen...2 of the 30 Z's built. Mine is from the east as well.
From the info I have received from Ontario registries, mine was seemingly unraced as it was registered by "GM Oshawa" for all of 1992. Probably a promo/exec car of some kind.

:(No, unfortunately it was not raced. It's history shows that GM of Oshawa was the registered owner for all of 92 and it landed on a dealers lot in 93 after the series was over.
This car was never ordered for a dealership. No evidence of a cage or anything, stock PROM and exhaust, etc...
I suspect it was one of the spares they kept for the final season in case someone crashed theirs.
Either that or it was one of the Exec/Promo cars for some GM dude involved in the series.
From what I've heard, several important people involved in the series usually had use of a car every model year...for promotion and testing and such...
I'm still waiting for my GM Vintage package, but the Ontario registration package has told me most of what I need to know...

One advantage (from a historical point) is that the unraced cars are all original. Shocks, struts, springs, etc. should all the be the way GM delivered it. That alone is rather interesting.
Heck, your car still has the spare tire and jack. Both my cars have none. The 1988 car would be neat as it had a spare delivered AFTER the car was delivered which was to fit over the 1LE brakes. Not sure what they used during this non-production 1LE year. Might have been off a FWD car for all I know. Nearly impossible to figure out now. Spare tires were never kept.
It's a bit of a mystery for me, but the front struts and rear shocks are suppose to be a different number than the published 1LE parts. The rule books state a newer number (well "as delivered" or these particular numbers). This is only the case in 1990-91-92. In 1989 it was the famous 1LE part numbers ... which we have all heard were too rough.
Anyways ... an unraced car is still quite neat ... but for different reasons.
