3rd Gen. vs. 4th Gen Mufflers

What are the differences between a 4th Gen muffler and a 3rd Gen? Why wont a 4th Gen not work? Are there major physical differences? Im tired of my Flowmaster and wanna grab a Borla.

Have you tried magnaflow? I just installed my own flowmaster and I love the tone it has now. But I know magnaflow has a different tone to it and it sounds nice too.
