I can buy an after market chip from either HYPERTECH or JET(LORDCO for about 220$) for your car but as far as iknow there is no reprogamble chip because ur chip isn't and EEPROM it is just and EPROM the extra E means errasble which 3rd gens r not.
Talk to 89Vert he knows all that shit hell i learned most of what i know about 3rd gens from him.

you can spend your money on a hypertech or a jet chip,
but they are very generic, you get what you get,
wait a couple more months I'll be able to offer you the same product as a hypertech or jet
but you'll be able to customize things such as disable your egr,
fan turn on and off temps, etc.

Youll need a eeprom and an adapter as well from Craig Moates. Check www.moates.net . Its really easy to get those generic chips. You can get the files from all over the internet and if you have a burner your pretty much done. Ive practised a few burns with a Jet Stage 1 and 2 and a few hyptertechs.
how much of a difference did you notice with the hypertechs?

from the website:
"Over 5,000 RPM HP Increase +20 hp, Torque Increase +37ft/lb, Under 5,000 RPM HP Increase +17 hp, Torque Increase +33ft/lb,"
are these numbers acurate? would i just be able to take out my prom and put in this one?

Yeah you can just swap proms and it might add close to those numbers. Basically they just use more aggressive timing and fuel tables
the swapping is easy if you are a 91/92 car right?

nah all years are pretty easy to swap proms, they're just plugged into the front of the ecm
