hey guys ive got a question, i installed a brand new jvc deck in my dads boat, its got 4 speakers, nothing to it ive installed decks like 100 times, i did the ground, acc, and power, and the 4 speaker wires, at low volume the deck works great, but when u go to crank it the deck cuts out, like it turns off and on really quick, almost like a quick flicker of a light, or its skipping, but its not skipping because the whole deck flashes, and only at high volume.. any ideas?

i know im a mod for this forum and i should know this, but im stumped, ive never ever had this problem nor seen it and im just stumped.. help is appreachiated

sounds like the deck needs more power, hook a batt charger up to the battery then try it!!

you take a voltmeter, put the positve lead on your battery postive(use a long piece of wire to reach you battery) and put the negative lead at your power wire as close to your deck as possible. It should read less than 1 volt with the deck playing at as close to full volume as possible. if it reads higher your have a short, bad connection or some type of resitance. Do the same thing on the neg. side. before doing any volt drops make sure you have 12 volts at your powetr supply

you could always run a new wire to the batt, ignition, and a new ground....dont trust stock wiring
