ive got a set of 3.42 gears for an 8.5 they are in great shape

3.73's new are about 290 plus tax about, im looking at $60.00 for my gears, so if you end up being interested the offer is open :)

richmond, personally thats the only way id go, the gm motives are quite a bit cheaper, but i think they are weaker by a fair bit, richmonds can take anything, worth the extra $$ IMO. or you can get a really good deal and get my 3.42's with low low k ;D

make sure its a 8.5 inch ten bolt they only came stock in 70-81 camaros and some other vehicles, and some new ones have 8.5 also, yours is most likely 7.5 or that 9 bolt majigger. but ya, $60.00 ;D

Ya, mine is a total custom 2nd hand rear end due to an unfortunate inceident with broken c-clips and spinning broken axle destroying everything on stock 2.73 rear end. I'll check it out though. bling blang

hmmm sounds interesting, well if the diff cover is completly round with 10 bolts and has a cover diameter of 11 inches or irregular oval, almost round 10-5/8 diameter :

10-Bolt 8.5'' (Corporate)

When replacing a stock 2.56 and numerically lower ratio, the carrier must be replaced with a carrier of 2.73 or higher.

the posi carrier is still in my car, it will be swapped out later, it wont fit in your car anyhow cuz its a 8.5 10 BOLT CORPORATE! way different 10 bolt then what you guys have unless you did a total custom swap out. these rearends are getting rare and they are uber strong, id put it up against a 12 bolt any day ;D read the list i posted above, thats what they are in
