your on crack buddy, well if value was the only thing you were looking at then it would be worth a tad more, unless the SS was a 427 id take that 500 times before a Z

i have a bit of a biased opinion...my dad owned 2 of them when i was growing up so it would bring back memories

well if you looked at some of the third gens on this site there is some pretty fuckin nice ones
mine, Iroc-Z's, 89RS's, and I'd say mike's is pretty fuckin sweet(irocnparts)
you have a 3rd gen ???
i'd take a blown 4th gen vert over a 1st gen,
my dad likes his vette more than camaro's,
my bro has a 3rd gen T/A but its just his daily driver, he likes his harley with nearly $40,000 into it better

i think id probably take a first gen over anything. although a 4th gen ws6 does intrigue me quite a bit.
btw IMO the first gen above looks stupid with those rims on it. almost as stupid as this one http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/250000-250999/250746_18_full.jpg.

they're whored out now :( I wanted to get some for my vette, But I think I'll just get some ZR1 wheels instead.
I want a ZL1 too, but a 69 Corvette ZL1 :) only 3 made from 67-69, and only 2 in the C3 (3rd gen) body style. With gears and tires the car allegedly ran into the 10s. thats like 5:something gears or something in the high 4's and wrinkle wall slicks.
