yeah but all that stuff can be had (and better) for a tenth of the price that u pay GM ...
i guess its the coolness factor of the plaque and portfolio that sells ...
the WS6 has almost all those options anyway .. and its a TA (nicer body kits) IMO.

is the firehawks's 345 hp underrated?..cause if its not its got just 5hp more than the 2002 ws6

None of the items I listed were available as options on late WS6 cars. They never were GM options, you paid SLP to put them on.
GM never sold the cars or the options; they are 'second sticker' cars sold by SLP to the individual dealers for re-sale. GM's involvement is for warranty purposes on the non-SLP parts only. Oh, and the base car for conversion to 99-02 SLP Firehawks was either a Formula or a TransAm and as you can see in the photo, mine is based on the TA. I agree with you about the TA vs Formula body style 8)

Yes, all LS1's were/are underrated but for the record, the rating for the last WS6 TAs was 325
umm one thing... according to GM all firehawks accept a few in 94 were base formulas not TAs

Prior to 1997, the "Firehawk" package was available only on the Formula model. After the LS1 engine arrived in the F-body for 1998, the "Firehawk" skipped a model year (only several pilot cars were produced), and then after 1998 the "Firehawk" was available on both the Formula and Trans Am models. Both "Reentry Racer" and my car are both Trans Ams, by the way. Here's the production numbers:
1991/92 25 (8 units made in 1991)
1993 201
1994 500
1995 684
1996 41
1997 148
1998 0 (9 pilot models made & privately sold)
1999 719
2000 741
2001 540
2002 1501
Total: 5100
And yes, you could buy most of the Firehawk package and install it on your WS6 or Z28. You just couldnt do so from the factory. That fact, coupled with the low production numbers, are what make Firehawks so unique. ;D

Ya thats my question...the ws6 was underrated at 325, actually had 340, so is the firehawk's 345 accurate or is it underated to?

The normal variablity in production engines probably accounts for RWHP differences larger than the official rated differences. The factory and SLP ratings were based on engine output while stationary in a dyno, and once the car is in motion the quality of the air it breathes makes a difference too. The so-called ram effect doesn't matter at all until well over 100MPH but the cold air while in motion certainly does. Just checking all the BBs and personal numbers put up by owners shows a huge spread in RWHP. Then there's the different dynos used... The only real dyno figures I believe are the run slip numbers you get while the other guy loses in the next lane! :o
