John Players Specials?

I had seen one advertised this way 6-7 years ago, was an all blue Z28 with a roll cage.

Want to know if these are real? or a mistake and they're really just players challenge cars.

Yes, many people seem to call them "John Player's Specials", not sure why but it is a mistake.* That's the way mine was advertised when I bought it.

I think it stems from the JPS Formula 1 sponsored cars from years ago, they had a black and gold symbol like the one below...

The F-Bodies were only GM Motorsport/Player's Challenge cars...not "Specials".
