yeah......its always revin around 900-1000

nope...everythin is stock, could it be a vaccuum leak?

gauge could be wrong
both the forth gens my mom had tack said 1000 put a digital timing light on it and it said around 600

Mine is always ~1000 RPM on the stock tach...had an autometer on there too, and it read closer to ~750 RPM. Car is a 1995 M6 all stock.

well .. coming from someone who knows for sure ... the pcm tries to keep the M6 idle at 850 .. and the A4 idle should be around 500 or 650 (i forget)

but if ur car is an M6 .. the needle should be just under 1000 and thats normal

but if ur car is an M6 .. the needle should be just under 1000 and thats normal


are you sure thats not the other way around every car i've seen stick idles lower than auto, auto needs to rev higher because the torque converter loads the motor

:D A4 = automatic 4 speed, M6 = manual 6 speed ;) ;D

yes im sure ... i can show u the idle tables in the pcm ... i've been tuning LT1 PCMs for 2 years now ;)

anyways...i checked it out with a snap on scanner and it read 790-810 RPM....idling in neutral....

M6...normal or not?

M6 idles at 850 which looks almost like 1000 on the tach.

that's exactly what it looks like...and when i checked it with the scan tool it read 800

Ls1 will idle rough, but not more than about 800rpm i think....anyways, raced an Altima tonight, you can imagine how that turned out ::)
