hey guys im wiring my dads boat stereo and i found the problem, the live feed from the battery (yellow on deck harness) has an inline fuse which is a good idea, but the fuse is only a 1amp and i had the stereo up high to see why and the fuse went, i have a feeling the fuse was holding it back.. on the back of the deck there is a 10 amp fuse built in, what should i put in the inline, 1 amp is to small, is the 10 amp in the deck enough protection?

if it was drawing more current than the 1 amp fuse it would blow...so im pretty sure you wont notice a difference...you can try adding a 10 amp if you like

I concur. Toss a 10 amp'er in there. What size is the wire?
