Hey guys I got a question about aircare. I have an 85 friebird that had a 2.8L but I put a 301 in it. I'm wondering if I need to have a cat? and how do I change my insurance papers to say I have a 5.0L not a 2.8L?

Ok for changing insurance papers no clue, one of the guys here that deal with that crap all the time can help .... as far as a Cat converter, I checked the aircare website and it is only recommended you get one up to 87, after that it is required .... that being said my car 85Z was checked for a cat, so I would print that page off and take it to an aircare center to find out for sure
Unless someone on the boards here has actual experience

When I went in for aircar the first time... I had no cat.... which is why I failed the emissions testing... but they didn't fail me cause I didn't have a cat (or they didn't check)
