RoadSense Tips

I subscribe to and read many sources each week in order to keep current and to find information for Behind the Wheel. The internet is a rich source of research and instruction, often delivered right to my inbox. I was reminded of one this week when advice about a new RoadSense Tip on ICBC's web site appeared in my e-mail.

The tips consist of a video of an ICBC driver examiner who explains the topic clearly. Next a Flash animation of the tip is presented. The animation stops and a written description of the point being illustrated is shown. Clicking next will cause the animation to continue to the next point, or proceed to the end.

The visitor has the opportunity to sign up for notification when the next new tip is available, just like I have already done for myself. It is 60 seconds of my time that I consider to be well spent.

There are currently 55 different tips available to view. The subjects range from When There is a Cyclist on the Road to Being Safe When a Commercial Vehicle Turns. Please take a moment to visit the site and view a tip or two. If the tip you want is not available, simply click the feedback link at the bottom of the page and say so!

Actually, it goes on more than half a dozen different sites, from this one to RevScene to the BMW Car Club of BC. It's in 8 newspapers too.
