anyone here running 3.73's or 4.11's with a 700-r4? and a 25-26" tire?

I had a 700r4 with my v8 s10 with 3.73's. It was great on the highway. Dident have a speedo but 2000-2300 rpm to keep up in traffic. I also had a th350 in there it took 3500-3800 rpm to keep up with traffic. It was really bad on gas.

I had 3.73 with a 5 speed on 245/50/16's

1st gear was useless,
my buddy runs 3.73's on a 700r4

i have 3.42's and the highway is a joke with 700-r4.. i have plenty of room for more gear.. im only trpping around 4000-4500 :/

sorry I'm used to being at 1500rpm on the freeway and get 31mpg :)

deff need lower gears if you are only traping at that rpm the prob with 700-r4 is the realy low 1st gear so when you go to a lower rear gearing 1 st is a joke as previsly stated so i am sure none of this helped in any way but o well

im running 3.73s with a 700 in my truck and a 27.7 inch rear tire.

first gear pulls hard, great for light to light fun and on the highway im at around 2400 rpm with the lock up converter.

this summer im planning on going with vortech head upgrade and some other goodies including a 3k stall that retains lock up. :D

best of both worlds.

A lot of people say the 700s are shit, but for my application (280-300HP) it works great. Its built up a bit though, and will bark 3rd on the street at around 90 km/h

I have a 89GTA with 260hp TPI,a solid 700r4, and a 4:1 9bolt posi, on 245/50/16.
loved every minute of it. whenever i was blue i'd take my car out and grin ear to ear.
that sucker pulled! chirped 2nd and 3rd. street only car.

this swap was done about 10 years ago by my old man, he swapped out the whole rear-end. I'll ask him when I see him in a bit. I could have sworn he said 4.11's. I'll keep you posted
