When I bought my first IROC it took all of 2 hrs to get into an accident.

A person of asian decent was driving in front of me, WAY in front of me.. I noted they had pulled over to the side of the road.... I approached and when I was approx 1.5 car lengths behind he turns his signal on WITHOUT looking and begins a U-TURN! I collide with his drivers rear bumper, and push him about 10 feet. damage to my car was fog lights broken and front bumper needed paint. His rear bumper needed to be painted. Not bad... but he told ICBC he was trying to make a left turn but the left turn was about 20 feet away.
ICBC couldnt decide who was at fault so they blamed 50/50

I went to court/dispute trial whatever, and they eventually decided 75/25. meaning I had to pay 1/4 of the deductable but my rates didnt go up. Good enuf.

okay heres mine...

my first car was a volvo. i used to rat bag it- drive it to the limit. it wasnt exactly a fast car but i drove it fast.

anyway one time i was zoomin up the hill, it was raining and wet- and i was in a hurry to get home, i had just gotten off work.

i got right bent around the first corner and lost it in the second corner. outa controll, there was oncoming traffic in the other lane so i steered towards the ditch. (if i had both lanes i know i could have corrected, but anyway)

So there i am heading for the ditch pretty fast- and im thinkin "jeez, i hope i dont get stuck, i hope i'll be able to back outa this"

i hit the ditch, i was goin so fast that the car went right up the bank. caught some good air time, and the car landed right back on the road. Upside down! It landed right on the roof. it happened so fast i didnt even have time to be scared.

anyway- volvo's have a reputation for being safe. and its a well earned one. I didnt get one scratch. not even a sore neck or anything. (i was buckled up)

but ya, if my first car was a camaro or mustang or something i probably wouldnt be alive right now.

I havent really crashed anything, i took my 88 hyundai to stave and was going entirly to fast and the ass end kicked out on the road and hit the bridge. It still drove for awhile after that until i attempted 9000rpm with it already knocking.

I also killed my 80 Dodge Diplomat (yeah i said it) by doing a breakstand the last day of school, last day that car moved under its own power too.

Im still young i got lots more crashes on the way. Plz not in the maro tho :-\

if anyone is ever driving down the hill from sfu/bby mountain....at the bottom where the road curves just before the intersection of Duthie and umm whatever that road is called up from 7/11 (i guess its Hastings still), anyways, on the curve there is those big cement guardrail blocks on the side of the road (to keep you from going off the road into a house or whatever)...well theres a bunch of scape marks on them...i was passanger in my buddys car way back in the good ol' high school days...he just got his liscence and was driving a dodge colt and took the corner way to fast...anyways, thank god for the cement guardrail, we would been clear into a house..

actually speaking of highschool, my other buddy just bought a Z24 and he phoned to come look at it but i said id come see it the next day...so i phone him the next day to come look at it and he said he crashed that night and wrote it off..haha,

then he crashed his next car too, now his insurance is still like 6K a year and that was like 3 years ago...anyways, i dont drive with him anymore::)

Newest one I was in my Camaro and I was getting it sideways around this sweet little corner in Port Kells and then the car just went strait into a 5 inch tree fucked up the front clip, then I bought a car bra.

but since august 23rd ive been in the hospital for 55 days and almost died because i got in the car with a drunk driver. I mean ive driven home many times just pissed out of my mind but since my accident its really not worth it. Im the laziest person in the world and i would rather walk home. Take my word for it, sitting in a hospital not being able to situp for a month and seeing your family and friends faces when they see you all fucked up isnt a good thing. If anybody ever needs a ride when they're drunk pm me and ill give you my number i dont care where you are

Going through this very old thread i've relized I mentioned my car accident but didn't go into details,


January 31st, 2000

It was Monday, had rained that day so the roads were a little wet but begining to dry

I was driving in my 86' Iroc that I had bought 4 days before on friday,
earlier that day I was driving like a retard beating on my new car
I was leaving Burnaby North Secondary making a left on to Kensington which is almost a U-turn the way the road come down
i fished out around the corner whiping the tail way out to the right, came back way left, at this point i thought I had it under control
but it went way right again, and then fished 1 final time to the left at which point I hooked up and launched into a parked pick up, i just clipped it with my right fender did very minor damage,

I went up to meet some friends at Cariboo Secondary,
when I got there i was telling the story, and a girl we were with siad se had some nail polish that matched the car
so we headed to my friends house with the nail polish to push out the small dent

so now were driving down Government on my way to my friends house to cover up the crash I was in earlier that day

I was driving behind my girlfriend she was in front doing about 90km/h, I was tring to pass but the road has alot of ups and downs and I couldn't see if there were cars coming the other way,

Finally just before the elementry school the road opens up and I can't see anyone for miles I speed up to about 140km/h
cross the double solid line and go for the pass, as I come up to the car I'm passing I see the lady pulling out from the stop sign,

I slam on my brakes go into a 4 wheel skid, then nail her on her right rear with my front right,
I sent her car spining then I hit the curb launching my car into the air, there was about 30 feet where my car was completely air born,

I broke the windshield with my head a was bleeding all 3 passengers were fine,

about a year later i was charged with "Reclace endangerment causing bodily harm"

had to get a lawyer go to several court dates etc.

by the time it was all siad and done out of my pocket including fines, lawyer fees, price of car etc. was almost $20,000,
I had pleaded down to "undo care and atention" with a 2 year licence suspension, and I was alowed to apply through the courts for it back when I was 19,

All I had was a messed knee from where it hit the dash, I got 6 stiches in my ear from shattered glass (picture frame in the van shattered on impact and the glass flew up from the back) and a bruised chest from the seat belt. I am a firm believer!

Drove around like that for 4 months whenever my parents were working, shopping, hanging with friends, etc. Anyways...my best friend at the time's dad had an '89 Nissan 240 (this was in '97) w/ 5800kms....not a typo....5800. So we go out cruising...he wasn't allowed to drive the 240 but his dad was at work...things are going well...I'm following him...then he pulls over....so I decided to show him what a V8 can do...signal, go to pass him and punch it....right then he decides to pull a U-turn w/ no signals or checking....I punched the brakes, locked up, steered to the left and managed to miss both is fender and his 1/4 panel but the door/sill were completely destroyed. 3000 dollars. I cracked a turn signal...26.50 from GM resto ;)

haha that's awesome....some trippy vids on thatvideosite.com too...there was one where these kids robbed a store and were fleeing from the cops in a B2200...ran a red...and outta nowhere...BOOM....semi doing highway speeds....the B was reduced to the thickness of cardboard in a milisecond....pretty disturbing...

1st car, 91 Pontiac Tempest, the 2nd day I had it I drove it too fast around a corner in the rain and straight up an embankment. Luckily the front of it was so curved it just happily road up the grass and dirt, barely a mark on it.

2nd car, 92 Honda Prelude, got rear ended in rush hour traffic by some lady changing lanes. $3000 damage, 0% my fault.

ya. mine has a red interior too and i like it. it goes good with the white exterior.

anyway i meant that the car looked like it was real nice before the crash. all the body panels are the same color, no rust holes, paint job looks like it was pretty good... alot of third gens are running around out there with different colour fenders and stuff, so its sad that this one got toasted.

the pics reminded me of mine, because mines white with red interior.
