Well after 6 years, several championships, my brother and I are selling all our shifterkart racing stuff...
We've got one each of 80/100/125cc karts, here's the basics:
125 kart: 2001 Birel CR32X (world champion many times over) chassis w/ TM reed or rotary power. Chassis is blood red with pearl white bodywork and factory graphics. Maintained religiously, recently new brakes (4wheel disc), axle, bearings, etc etc. Engine is either a Formula-C spec TM KV95 or a TM125 Cross. Both engines are 6 speed sequential shift, water cooled, 14k redline for the cross, ~15k for the C-spec. Kart will be sold with new seat and bodywork, and possibly data acquisition. THIS IS A FAST KART, NOT FOR ROOKIES! 125cc engine develops ~45hp, will smoke a Z06 around a slalom course, and has attained top speeds of ~180 km/h on a .7 mile roadcourse. Will help new owner learn how to drive/tune this beast, was my personal kart and won a few races...
100cc kart: 2002 Birel Q31X, very nice chassis/engine package for a beginner, available with direct drive (no shifting, must be push started) PCR 100cc Reed valve engine. Red on red, factory graphics, very low hours.
80cc kart: 2002 Birel Q31X, Honda CR80R power...Perfect for beginner wanting to race shifter karts, very fast but much easier to drive than 125. Kart has won lots of races, and in pristine shape.
All these karts were incredibly maintained and built to championship winning standards. Spares, racing gear are available to new owner, as is track side support. Prices to be negotiated, serious parties contact either Greg or Phillip at gcavouras@dccnet.com
greg can u give us an idea of the area ur lookin for $$ ?
thanx :)

Ok, reason I didn't do that before was because the prices are MAJORLY dependant on spares complements, gear, data acquisition, etc, etc, etc...
BUT...I would be glad to steer you in the right direction...Basically to give you some idea, a new turnkey 125cc is ~10,000+tax
80cc is ~7500+tax
100cc is ~6500+tax
I'm looking for ROUGHLY 5-6 for each of the shifter karts, and around 3 for the 100cc...All karts are modded to pro levels and have untold amounts of cash in them...please contact me for more detailed prices...
Cheers
-Greg

Yeah I know, you're right. It's tough to put a number on them though because of history/time/money in them...

are they street legal? cus i think i got banned from wester after last time i was there hehe
what would you need/how much would i cost to get into amateur racing at a track?

Elton: HAhahahahah....no. Not street legal, and even if they were I wouldn't advise driving them on the street ;D
89RS: Well that's a can of worms...Basically to get started you need:
-kart (of course)
-driving suit+helmet
-truck or small trailer to transport (any car can pull)
-basic tools, a $80 set from costco will do it
-air tank
-kart stand
-jerry cans
-assorted lubricants/cleaners
When you get serious, you'll want:
-some spares for chassis
-maybe spare motor
-rain tires+wheels
-more specialized tools
-different gears (final drive)
That will keep you busy for a while...then when you want to go racing, you need a license and a basic medical saying you are fit to drive. It's really not tough to do. Until then you can practice at F440 in tsawwassen...Racing happens at CARTBC in chilliwack, it's off Lickman rd. exit, behind the golf course.
It's not really *that* expensive, and if you're any good, with a little persistence you can pick up some sponsorship...that makes it wayy easier. It's like anything, you can run in the novice class and spend very little, just have a good time racing, or you can take it really really seriously and spend a small fortune. I have all this stuff for sale, and if you are serious about getting into the sport, you can email me or add me to msn (greg_cavouras@hotmail.com) and we can discuss further. Hope this helps

LOL not quite, i took my 125 shifter out on the street all the time, had it rippin around down 41st and victoria area a bunch, and back and forth on delta port, should see the look on people when they are cruising down deltaport at 80 and an ittty bitty go kart flys past them, got tonnes of thumbs up, but im sure it annoyed some people. only track mine saw was the killarny highschool running track, till we got kicked off cause it was so damn loud and annoying.
