max psi on stock lt1

how much psi can i run on my stock lt1. what would be a good cam for a stock lt1 with longtubes and low boost for streetable driving until i feel like forking out all the cash to throw my new motor in and the rest of the drivetrain. i dont care if i blow the motor i just want to have some fun for a few months.

my dads '95 car ran 8psi, and the head gaskets didn't like it

any amount of boost on a stock LT1 is playing with fire, they blow up without boost. If the motor is in good shape I'd say 6 psi with a conservative tune is safe
