Heres what happened. When i put it back together it TOTALLY slipped my mind, Upon further inspection pilot bushing appeared to be the wrong size, and totally demolished ! Getting those things out is fun. What i ended up doing was renting a puller from canadian tire, POS felt like it was gonna break and it wasnt worth my $55 so i took it back. Took a bolt that just barely fit, hammered it in to get it started, threaded it all the way in and it pushed itself out like a dream, too easy. Trannys in now, just have to hook up torque arm, x member and little things, but i have to do inventory at work tonight until midnight, and i work until 5 tomorrow, so it wont be fixed for a while yet...yuck.

And on a lighter note, to anyone doing a tranny swap, it is 100 times easier to bolt the bellhousing to the engine, then the trans to the bellhousing, rather then connecting trans/bell to engine. We messed with it a bit then decided to just try bolting the bell to engine, and wow was it ever easier.

Holy fuck im broke now. Brand new carb today, holley 600, vac secondarys, electric choke, chrome ! What a fucking dream, bolted it on, hooked up the choke, had to adjust the idle a tiny biit but fuck, more power, most likely better gas mileage, and no bogs...i swear to god it feels like fuel injection !!

put the bellhousing up and hook up the clutch slave,
that way when you get the tranny in the splines of the clutch disc, and it won't go into the pilot bearing, just get somebody to puch the clutch pedal a little bit, it slides right in.

and the top bellhousing bolts are way easier to get when the tranny is not attached to it,

to get the pilot bearing out fill the center with grease find a bolt that fits tight in the bearing and give it a tap it in and keep stuffing grease in till it pops
