basically, customers wont wait 20 minutes. especially if all they are buying is lube. and you know, patience is a virtue. i appreciate it alot when we're visibly busy, like phones ringing, and a short amount of staff around, and i tell my customer to wait for just a second while i finish an order up, they say 'oh, it's ok, take your time.'
whatever happened to patience anyways. seems to me that if you're in that big a hurry, you should allow yourself more time in case you're told to wait. when you're old, you have a license to be an impatient asshole, until then, you have nothing but time.

Patience can only be sacrificed so long as there are trade-offs. I've worked in retail before and efficiency of the workers and volume of staff needs to be taken into consideration. If people aren't getting served because of either of these reasons, then it's not the customers fault. Customers have opportunity costs just like the employees; the longer they stand there waiting, the less they can get accomplished. Saying patience is a virtue and 'whatever happened to patience' isn't particularly parallel to the type of industry you're in and Lordco isn't the only auto parts store people will rely on.

i run a high volume parts department by myself right now, it's really stressful.. as such, i price things on the fly based on people and their attitudes. i don't even have time to establish a retail pricing and discount structure that works.

it's the managment's fault that we're short staffed - not mine, and i don't give a fuck if you get pissed off and leave..

i can be really reasonable with pricing, but i don't work on comission.. so people that come up to me and pull attitude cause they had to wait 15 minutes to get parts then bitch about the price i give them, can get fucked and pay full retail, as far as i'm concerned

lordco is the same way. be patient nice to your parts supplier and they'll be nice to you, they don't give a fuck.
